The Ultimate Recovery Experience
Enhance circulation, reduce inflammation, and build resilience through guided temperature exposure. This recovery session includes infrared sauna, dry sauna, and cold plunge to help regulate stress, speed up healing, and energize both body and mind. Our contrast therapy protocol alternates between extreme heat and cold to trigger powerful physiological responses that promote recovery and vitality.
Alternating between heat and cold causes blood vessels to dilate and constrict, creating a powerful pumping action that flushes metabolic waste and delivers fresh oxygen and nutrients to tissues throughout the body.
Cold exposure triggers vasoconstriction that reduces swelling and inflammation, while subsequent heat exposure promotes healing blood flow. This cycle is particularly effective for chronic inflammation and post-workout soreness.
Regular contrast therapy trains your autonomic nervous system to handle stress more effectively. The deliberate exposure to temperature extremes builds resilience and improves your body's ability to regulate its stress response.
The thermogenic demands of contrast therapy activate brown fat and boost your metabolic rate. Your body burns significant calories maintaining core temperature through alternating hot and cold exposure.
Voluntarily stepping into cold water after intense heat builds mental toughness and discipline. Many clients report improved focus, reduced anxiety, and a greater sense of control over their emotional responses.
The deep relaxation that follows a contrast therapy session promotes better sleep quality. The drop in core body temperature after the session signals your body that it's time to rest, leading to deeper, more restorative sleep.
Contrast therapy is a recovery protocol that alternates between hot and cold exposure to stimulate powerful physiological responses throughout the body. At Deliberate Wellness Studio in Vineyard, Utah, our contrast therapy sessions combine infrared sauna, traditional dry sauna, and cold plunge into a guided 60-minute experience designed to optimize recovery, reduce inflammation, and build physical and mental resilience.
The science behind contrast therapy is rooted in the body's thermoregulatory response. When you move from heat to cold, blood vessels rapidly constrict, flushing metabolic waste from muscles and tissues. When you return to heat, vessels dilate, flooding those same areas with oxygen-rich blood and nutrients. This pumping action accelerates recovery far beyond what either heat or cold therapy can achieve alone.
Our studio features two cold plunges side by side, making contrast therapy an ideal experience for couples, friends, or training partners. The infrared sauna provides deep-penetrating heat that warms muscles from the inside out, while the traditional dry sauna offers classic Finnish-style heat for full-body warming before cold immersion.
Arrive 10 minutes early to check in, change, and hydrate before your session begins.
Your session starts with 15–20 minutes in the infrared or dry sauna to raise your core temperature and warm your muscles.
Transition to the cold plunge for 2–5 minutes of cold immersion at approximately 39°F to trigger vasoconstriction and endorphin release.
Repeat the hot-cold cycle 2–3 times during your 60-minute session, adjusting intensity based on your comfort level.
End with a final cold immersion for maximum recovery benefit, followed by a brief rest period.
Hydrate and enjoy the post-session euphoria — most clients describe feeling energized, clear-headed, and deeply relaxed.
Our cold plunges are maintained at approximately 39°F (4°C). First-time visitors can start with shorter immersions of 30–60 seconds and gradually build up to 2–5 minutes as they become more comfortable with the cold.
Just bring a swimsuit and a positive attitude. We provide towels, robes, and all the amenities you need. We recommend arriving hydrated and avoiding heavy meals within an hour of your session.
Absolutely. Our staff will guide you through the protocol and help you adjust the intensity based on your experience level. You control how long you spend in each phase, and you can always step out of the cold plunge whenever you need to.
